Job Summary
The Advanced Operations Engineer leads new product introduction (NPI) and process development efforts to ensure products are successfully transitioned from concept to full-scale production. This role serves as the technical interface between customers, program management, and manufacturing to ensure quality, cost, and delivery objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities:
SMT Process & Equipment Operation
- Lead technical activities for new product introductions fromquotethrough production release
- Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Develop manufacturing process flows, work instructions, and tooling requirements
- Support first builds, pilot runs, and production ramp-up
- OptimizeSMT, through-hole, box build, and test processes
- Drive yield improvement, scrap reduction, and process capability
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Production
- Interface with customers on technical and manufacturing topics
Preferred Qualifications and Character Traits:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing
- Experience supporting NPI in a contract manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in regulated industries (Medical, Aerospace, Defense)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP and MES systems
