- Apprentice Operator
Description
Under direct supervision, the Apprentice Operator performs skilled work in the day-to-day operations of water wells, lift stations, and wastewater plant operations.
The hours are primarily Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but due to rotating on-call assignments, they will also include after-hours emergency calls and some weekend duty hours.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Utility repairs, manhole repairs, meter leaks, tap line leaks, calibrate meters, maintain and repair district wastewater and water facilities.
Assist with plant/facility operations as directed/needed, main lines, manholes, meters, sanitary sewers, and valve leaks.
Respond to and resolve customer service complaints related to District facilities.
Review service orders for accuracy, details, materials, and comments.
Ensure repairs and maintenance to District facilities and service lines are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner while meeting regulatory requirements.
Must successfully pass background and drug screening and have a clear driving record.

High School Diploma or GED
Valid Texas Driver's License
TCEQ Water/Wastewater License Preferred
