BRYAN, TEXAS • MIRAMONT COUNTRY CLUB • ROBERT TRENT JONES II DESIGNAssistant Golf Course Superintendent
Miramont Country Club is seeking a motivated and skilled Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to support all golf course maintenance activities across the course and property common/landscape areas. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent and Director of Agronomy, this role plans, schedules, trains and accomplishes daily and seasonal maintenance tasks while ensuring a member/guest-ready appearance at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
AGRONOMY & OPERATIONS
→ Schedule daily work & map monthly/annual recurring tasks
→ Oversee & participate in completion of work by the team
→ Troubleshoot irrigation system incl. control wires, sprinklers and system components
→ Schedule irrigation central control and field satellites based on plant/turf needs
→ Inspect and operate all aspects of the irrigation pump
→ Calibrate fertilizer and plant protection equipment
→ Proactively manage disease, insect and weed pressure via IPM
LEADERSHIP & TEAM
→ Supervise a team of up to 20 employees
→ Interview and hire new team members within the approved staffing matrix
→ Train crew in safe and proper operation of all golf course maintenance equipment
→ Enforce safe working conditions and instruct staff on equipment use
→ Maintain records of disciplinary incidences and submit to HR Manager
→ Lead by example to build the Club vision & mission
→ Attend meetings and perform other duties as directed
COURSE CONDITIONS
→ Supervise pruning of all plants and trees on the course
→ Manage bunker maintenance and ensure rakes are stored properly
→ Ensure tee markers are in correct locations and adjusted for participation
→ Maintain healthy, weed-free ornamental and mulch beds
→ Supervise chemical applications to turf, shrubs and trees
→ Oversee string trimmer operations around trees, fences, lake banks
MEMBER EXPERIENCE
→ Ensure members/guests experience exceptional playing conditions
→ Manage traffic control ropes, hazard stakes & signage
→ Assign tasks to maintain clean environment for members and guests
→ Complete project work incl. grading, sod and planting
→ Provide supplemental irrigation to any deficient areas
→ Maintain a member-ready appearance across all Club grounds

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of golf operations management experience
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and turf/plant science
- Ability to operate all landscape maintenance equipment
- Familiarity with ornamental plants, annuals, bulbs, and perennials
- Strong attitude, communication, and member relations skills
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs; work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, humidity)
- Excellent communication and member relations skills
- ? 2-4 year degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Golf Course Management
- ? Warm-season turfgrass management experience
- ? Prior high-end golf, country club or hospitality experience

REQUIRED LICENSES
- Valid Driver's License
- TDA Pesticide Applicator's License (Texas) - or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment
