Position Summary

The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and agronomy leadership team to help oversee daily golf course maintenance operations, staff development, and long-term turf health initiatives. This role offers hands-on leadership experience, exposure to advanced agronomic programs, and a clear path for professional growth. The Club is in the early planning stages for a complete replacement of the irrigation system.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in daily planning and execution of course maintenance operations
• Lead, train, and motivate maintenance staff
• Participate in chemical and fertilizer applications and recordkeeping
• Monitor turf conditions and assist with agronomic decision-making
• Support irrigation system operation, repair, and troubleshooting
• Assist with tournament preparation and course setup
• Ensure safety compliance and best management practices

Experience Requirements

• Two or more years of golf course maintenance experience with proven record of increased responsibility
• An optimistic, self-motivated professional with a sense of urgency coinciding with strong attention to detail
• A Massachusetts pesticide applicator's license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days
• Solid agronomic knowledge, including plant health, water management
• Strong communication skills and a desire to lead, learn, and advance
