Metro Code is a Plan Review & Inspection Company that is seeking a full-time Combination Building Inspector to join their team. This position will be responsible for inspecting residential construction for the compliance of local and state codes, ordinances, regulations, and approved plans. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, highly trainable, and works well with others!

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Inspect a variety of buildings for compliance of building codes and local amendments
• Interpret complex building codes and present that information to others in a clear and concise manner
• Prepare written correspondence to clients and municipalities
• Assess and communicate any red-tag items to clients and offer assistance to resolve those issues or other client concerns
• Explain and answer any client questions regarding building inspections
• Manage multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously and in a highly efficient manner

Requirements

Requirements:

• ICC Residential Building Inspection Certification
• Working knowledge of ICC and applicable codes
• 1-2 years experience performing Plan Review or Inspections with private entity or municipality
• Proficient in Microsoft Programs 
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Class C Driver’s License and good driving history 
• Capable of handling multiple projects at one time and maintaining organization
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, and municipalities

• ICC Residential Energy Plan Review/Inspection Certification
• ICC Residential Mechanical Certification
• ICC Residential Electrical Certification
• ICC Residential Plumbing Certification
• Texas State Plumbing Board License
