Description

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Monitoring Manager to join a leading Investment Bank. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior role delivering regulatory reviews in relation to first line controls.

The Role

As a key member of the Compliance Department, you will:

Lead the maintenance and delivery of the annual Compliance Testing & Monitoring plan.

Provide independent assurance to senior management through clear, accurate reporting.

Manage, coach, and develop junior team members within the function (3 direct reports).

Liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal Quality Assurance teams to promote strong governance standards.

Contribute to the assessment of compliance and conduct risks to help shape departmental priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead thematic desk reviews, ensuring compliance risks are effectively identified and managed.
• Design and deliver risk-based testing program.
• Provide subject matter expertise on regulatory risks and requirements across UK and EU frameworks.
• Deliver high-quality analysis to support senior management decision-making.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring high standards of delivery.
• Contribute to compliance risk assessments and periodic reviews of policies, systems, and controls.
• Produce regular management information for senior stakeholders.
• Act as a key liaison for stakeholders across business areas, building strong working relationships.
• Provide independent challenge to the business, escalating issues where appropriate.

About You

• Strong experience in regulatory Compliance testing, monitoring, or assurance within financial services.
• In-depth knowledge of UK and EU regulatory requirements (US regulatory exposure beneficial).
• Proven ability to lead complex reviews and deliver high-quality reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge senior colleagues.
• Experience in managing and developing junior team members.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
