12-Month Fixed term contract

London - Hybrid 4 days in the office

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Compliance professional to join a well-regarded international banking group in London on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders, supporting regulatory obligations, and contributing to a strong compliance culture.

Working closely with the Head of Compliance, you will help ensure the business remains aligned with key UK regulatory expectations and internal policies. The role offers real breadth, including compliance monitoring and testing, regulatory impact assessments, support with SMCR-related work, and engagement with FCA and other regulatory matters.

THE ROLE

1. Supporting the Head of Compliance with day-to-day regulatory and governance matters.
2. Assisting with compliance monitoring and testing activities relating to Consumer Duty, BCOBS, SYSC and other guidelines.
3. Contributing to regulatory reporting and assessments.
4. Supporting the preparation of HMRC AEOI returns and related compliance obligations.
5. Assisting with FSCS and SMCR-related processes, including applications where required.
6. Helping to maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulators.
7. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct dialogue and written communications with UK regulators

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED

1. Minimum 4 years' experience in compliance within banking.
2. Strong understanding of FCA rules and broader UK banking regulatory requirements such as SMCR, Consumer Duty, BCOBS, SYSC and other guidelines
3. Good working knowledge of FSCS and AEOI rules and requirements .
4. Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills.
5. A proactive team player who can manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
6. Degree educated, ideally with a legal, compliance, or related qualification.
