We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consultant/Managing Consultant to join our healthcare advisory team. This client-facing role is ideal for someone who thrives in hospital environments and can bridge the gap between financial performance and clinical quality. The Consultant/Managing Consultant will lead and support initiatives that drive operational efficiency, cost containment, and improved clinical outcomes.
Willingness to travel consistently (typically 50% - 75%, depending on project requirements and client expectations) is required for this position. Job title and compensation to be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
Client Engagement & Advisory
Serve as an on-site advisor to hospital leadership, clinical teams, and operational finance departments.
Facilitate alignment between clinical outcomes and financial performance across departments.
Lead value assurance efforts across all engagement workstreams.
Clinical & Financial Performance Improvement
Identify and quantify opportunities for cost avoidance through clinical quality improvement.
Translate clinical performance data into actionable financial insights.
Conduct Lean/Gap analyses to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Support public scorecard optimization and quality reporting strategies.
Data & Analytics Support
Work with client data governance structures.
Reconcile existing client dashboards and reports to ensure consistency and usability.
Promote trust and transparency through documentation and data integrity initiatives.
Review and recommend client dashboard modifications (keep, remove, recalibrate).
Establish standard measurement definitions and clinical quality indicators (leading and lagging).
Develop educational materials to improve data literacy and ownership across the health system.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Finance, Public Health, or related field (Master's preferred).
3-7 years of experience in hospital finance, healthcare analytics, or clinical operations.
Technical & Analytical Skills
Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, Power BI.
Ability to interpret clinical and financial data to identify trends and opportunities.
Familiarity with hospital cost accounting and budgeting processes.
Domain Knowledge
Understanding of clinical quality metrics (e.g., CMS Star Ratings, Leapfrog).
Exposure to revenue cycle operations, supply chain management, and value-based care models.
Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance frameworks.
Soft Skills
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented and proactive problem solver.
Consultant Salary Range: $70,000 $150,000
Managing Consultant Salary Range:$100,000 $230,000
