RWJBarnabas Health Is Seeking a Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Physician in Newark, New Jersey
RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey’s largest integrated healthcare system, is seeking a full-time Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Physician at Newark Beth Isreal in Newark, NJ.
The physician will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pulmonary care, manage critically ill patients, and participate in the division’s call schedule. This position also includes opportunities to teach residents and fellows, contribute to clinical research, and support the continued growth of pulmonary and critical care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based pulmonary and critical care services in inpatient, outpatient, and intensive care settings
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic respiratory disease, multi-organ dysfunction, sepsis, shock, and other critical illnesses
- Perform pulmonary and critical care procedures, including airway management, mechanical ventilation, bedside ultrasound, arterial and central venous access, and other procedures within the physician’s scope of practice
- Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, case managers, and ancillary staff
- Communicate with patients, families, referring physicians, and members of the care team
- Participate in resident and fellow education through clinical rounds and scheduled lectures
- Support quality improvement, patient safety, resource utilization, and evidence-based clinical protocols
- Participate in clinical research, scholarly activity, hospital committees, and divisional planning as appropriate
- Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation and billing
- Provide on-call coverage as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Board certification in Pulmonary Medicine
- Board certification in Critical Care Medicine
- Board certification in Sleep Medicine preferred
- Active New Jersey medical license or eligibility for licensure
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong clinical, communication, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work is $350,000 to $600,000 per year.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
