Description
The RoleSitting at the intersection of strategy, growth, and investment, you will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives and executing high‑impact transactions. This includes defining new market opportunities, supporting product expansion, building strategic partnerships, and leading structured equity and M&A execution.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy (UK & Europe)
- Lead strategy development across new markets, new products, and growth initiatives within the energy value chain.
- Drive rigorous, fact‑based market and competitive analysis to inform senior leadership decisions.
- Partner closely with business line heads and executives to translate strategy into actionable initiatives.
- Develop high‑quality presentations, strategic materials and recommendations for European and US senior leadership teams.
Structured Equity & Business Development
- Originate, assess, structure, and execute investment opportunities including acquisitions, minority stakes, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
- Lead end‑to‑end transaction diligence and valuation processes, coordinating cross‑functional internal teams and external advisors.
- Oversee post‑transaction integration, ensuring value capture, delivery against strategic objectives, and embedding performance tracking into operations.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor's degree required (Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline).
- MBA or CFA is an advantage, especially for candidates with a strong focus on structured equity or deal execution.
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking or corporate development, with a proven ability to lead complex cross‑functional workstreams.
- Strong financial modelling and valuation expertise (DCF, comparables, transaction multiples, sensitivities).
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing growth strategies, including market entry and business planning.
- Ability to synthesise complex data into clear, executive‑ready recommendations and materials.
- Proven deal experience across M&A, minority investments, joint ventures and partnerships.
- Strong strategic problem‑solving capability, including market structure analysis, competitive landscaping and value chain positioning.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and partnering across commercial, finance, legal, and risk teams.
