Job Summary
Full-Time and Permanent; Non-Exempt; 8 Hours/Day; 252 Days/Year; 12 Months/Year; Grade: MM
Performs a variety of skilled, master-level electrical tasks related to the installation, modification, and repair of commercial electrical systems, controls, and equipment. Serves as a crew leader and performs related duties as required.
General Responsibilities
Oversee and participate in the work of a small team performing master-level electrical duties on interior and exterior building systems, including single- and multi-phase electrical systems in compliance with applicable building, fire, and electrical codes.
Receive work orders, plan and sketch projects, procure materials, and oversee completion of assigned work.
Troubleshoot, test, repair, and modify electrical systems and equipment.
Repair and maintain electrical motors, motor controls, blowers, pumps, indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures, heating systems, control panels, main and distribution circuit breakers, lighting and power distribution panel boards, surge protectors, and emergency generators.
Replace electrical panels, work on elevators, fire and boiler control circuitry, and design complex electrical installations.
Modify existing line services and install new electrical service wiring, including determining type, size, location, routing, and conduit design.
Operate and maintain hand and power tools such as multi-meters, amp meters, circuit tracers, conduit benders, and volt meters.
Use ladders, scaffolding, and personnel lifts as required.
Ensure proper maintenance of tools and equipment and maintain a safe work environment.
Drive a vehicle to and from work locations and maintain vehicle inventory of tools and materials.
Order, procure, and assemble parts and materials; perform routine vehicle maintenance; maintain records and prepare reports of completed work and materials used.
Requirements
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED, supplemented by completion of an appropriate electrical apprenticeship program.
Minimum of five (5) years of practical experience in the electrical trade, including experience at the master level or equivalent.
At least five (5) years of relevant experience preferred.
High school or trade school degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency, or valid work authorization required.
