This job maintains the total electrical distribution system throughout Ochsner's facilities. Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshoots, utilizing specialized test equipment and hand/power tools.
Education
Required - High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred - Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.
Work Experience
Required - 2 years in commercial or light industrial experience. Experience with and the ability to properly use all power, hand tools and specialized equipment associated with the electrical trade. Experience working with minimal supervision. Experience with reading, writing and understanding mechanical and electrical symbolisms to enable one to interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and mechanical.
Certifications
Preferred - Electrical license necessary after 6 months of hire
Other
Required - Trade school training in the electrical field. Electrical license.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code)
- Knowledge of the State, Parish, and the Southern Building Codes
- Self directed
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Drawing skills in order to document electrical charges on existing prints for upgrading by CADD
- Stress management skills
Job Duties
• Maintains and repairs complex electrical systems
• Performs Preventive Maintenance and Documentation
• Researches and troubleshoots problems
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Demonstrate Dependability and Adherence to Ochsner Clinic Foundation Professional Appearance Policy.
