POSITION SUMMARY
Mathy recognizes the importance of safety and health for the well-being of employees, protection of equipment and property, and overall productivity on the job. At Mathy "we own safety". Safety is everyone's responsibility and must be a priority every day.
Field Safety Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that employee concerns are dealt with appropriately and track issues to completion.
- Promote health and safety goals and objectives with divisions and employees.
- Continuously maintain positive safety influence by recognizing employees who exhibit safe behaviors.
- Assist in performing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and incident reviews.
- Develop and present health and safety related topics in safety meetings, new hire training, and refresher training.
- Demonstrate safe behaviors and coach others to improve overall safety performance.
- Evaluate hazardous conditions and practices to develop controls or mitigations as they arise.
- Assist with emergency response planning and training.
- Maintain knowledge of latest OSHA and other pertinent regulatory rules through ongoing training and seminars.
- Develop, review, and update safety programs and policies.
- Monitor all worker compensation claims associated with assigned projects.
This is a full-time position located in Onalaska, WI. Travel will be required.

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
- A combination of education and a minimum of 2 years of experience will be considered.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Certification preferred.
- Certified in 1st Aid/CPR and/or emergency medical preferred.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
