A well-established international bank is looking to appoint an MLRO / Head of Compliance to lead the Compliance function for its Paris branch.

This role has overall responsibility for local regulatory compliance, financial crime prevention, and conduct risk. You will lead the local Compliance team, act as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Local Compliance Officer, and work closely with senior management to ensure the business operates within French and EU regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the local Compliance team
• Act as MLRO, overseeing AML, sanctions, and financial crime controls
• Act as Local Compliance Officer for all activities in France
• Design and oversee a risk-based compliance monitoring programme
• Provide practical compliance advice to the business and senior management
• Maintain regular contact with regulators and public authorities
• Oversee regulatory reporting and submissions

Requirements:

• Strong compliance experience within banking, covering markets activities
• Solid knowledge of French and EU regulatory frameworks
• Experience dealing directly with regulators
• Previous leadership or management experience
• Able to balance regulatory requirements with commercial objectives
