Description
Salary $75,000-$90,000
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a member of the Employee Experience team and is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's operations, strategic plans, and culture.
This is a hybrid role that requires travel to various office locations.

Responsibilities
- Serves as primary HRBP for a designated service line, with responsibility for employee relations, workplace investigations, and general HR consultation.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Understands the importance of being a neutral partner.
- Provides day-to-day HR generalist support to leaders and employees within the assigned service line, including guidance on policies, procedures, and HR programs.
- Works closely with all other HR teams and has a solid understanding of benefits, operations, recruitment, training, and career advancement.
- Develops HR solutions by collecting and analyzing information, recommending courses of action.
- Improves manager and employee experience by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
- Completes special projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
- Collects and reports on employee trends based on investigations and various stay interviews.
- Works closely with the Risk team when it comes to investigations that involve employees and clients.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
- Attend and actively participate in supervision, Employee Experience team meetings and full HR team meetings.
- Perform all duties in accordance with agency’s policies and procedures.
- Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology or a related field .
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources specific to Employee Relations & Investigations.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
- Strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, required. Experience with Smartsheets, preferred.
- Must be detailed oriented and have strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local legislation regarding employment and labor laws.
- Ability to interpret personnel policies, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and interact effectively with agency management and staff.
- High energy level, superior interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced team atmosphere.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Must hold a valid drivers’ license and have access to an insured automobile to travel between sites.
