What You'll Do:
In the Human Resource Generalist role, you'll provide administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department and supports HR functions including payroll, benefits, and leaves. This position maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records to support the mission of Interfaith Community Services.
Maintains confidential files, employee records, and Human Resources department records, both physical and electronic documents
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
Supports the Human Resources department by performing reception duties and responding to employee inquiries
Schedules and organizes meetings on behalf of the department and Senior Human Resources Director
Assist the Human Resources department by keeping order and maintaining the department’s organization and cleanliness.
Orders and maintains department supplies including office, cleaning, recruiting, and new- hire supplies.
Provides support on department-wide projects as they arise.
Processes all EDD requests to ensure accuracy and informs Senior HR Director of any discrepancies
Processes all employment verifications requests
Directly supports with payroll functions such as reports, tracking and 401k deduction processing
Provides timely general employee guidance on all HR-related topics
Assists with other HR functions such as worker’s compensation, recruitment, and retention, etc. as necessary
All other duties as assigned

High School Diploma or equivalent, required
2+ years of experience in a progressively responsible clerical, customer service or administrative position required; an equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted
Experience supporting multiple HR functions (recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits, payroll)
Familiarity with HRIS systems
SKILL SETS / ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Working knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices
Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet multiple deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment
Knowledge of adult development and community and social service resources
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and collaborative teams
Ability to communicate professionally with a diverse workforce and maintain positive working relationships across all organizational levels
Demonstrates teamwork, cooperation, and a strong sense of urgency
Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with staff
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of client and employee information
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
