Job Purpose and Impact

The Industrial Cleaner is responsible for ensuring a sanitary environment by completing routine cleaning tasks and supporting overall facility cleanliness standards.

Job Type: Full Time
Shift Available: Rotative (Weekends may be required)
Compensation: $23.00 /hr - after probation period $27.06 /hr

Key Accountabilities

• Clean, degrease, and sanitize industrial equipment including conveyors, mixers, motors, machines, and automated systems
• Remove dust, fluids, grease, and residues using approved tools and chemicals.
• Perform scheduled deep-cleaning during production shutdowns or maintenance windows
• Inspect equipment after cleaning to ensure proper function and safety.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and pressure-wash production floors, platforms, catwalks, and work areas.
• Clean oil, chemical, and raw-material spills following safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage rooms, waste areas, loading bays, and high-traffic zones
• Manage waste disposal, including recycling, hazardous waste handling, and material segregation.
• Follow all safety rules, regulations, and company procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
• Must be 18 years or older
• High School diploma or Equivalent
• Prior experience in cleaning roles
• Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
• Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating a power floor scrubber
• Certified in fall-safe procedures and safe-work-at-height practices
