The Skilled Labor position supports the installation of golf course irrigation systems by performing a variety of manual labor tasks under the direction of the Irrigation Foreman or Superintendent. This role is essential to building high-quality irrigation systems and requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation of irrigation systems, including pipe, valves, fittings, wiring, and sprinkler heads.
- Perform trenching, backfilling, compaction, and site cleanup activities.
- Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment around the job site.
- Operate simple equipment such as utility vehicles and dump trucks.
- Cut, glue, and assemble PVC pipe according to instructions and specifications.
- Follow all safety procedures, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Take direction from foremen and supervisors and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Learn basic irrigation concepts, materials, and construction techniques.
What we look for:
- 1-3 years' experience in irrigation installation with golf course irrigation experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and operate irrigation equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Ability to travel to job sites across the United States.
Work Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to bend, kneel, dig, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions.
- Willingness to work extended hours and Saturday.
- Extensive and extended travel to job sites across the United States required.
