Lead Electrical Engineer - Next-Generation Hardware
Are you a seasoned technical leader ready to drive the development of groundbreaking hardware solutions? We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in embedded hardware design, strong analytical skills, and a history of leading successful cross-functional teams in an Agile environment. You will be a key contributor, responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex electrical engineering assignments in collaboration with our core and extended teams. This is an onsite role in our Murray, UT office.
What You Will Do:
- System Design & Definition: Conceptualize and define complete electrical systems for advanced scanning and vision products, including processor selection, board architecture, and integrated interfaces (BLE, USB, WiFi, Ethernet).
- Circuit Development: Design complex, high-efficiency circuits, with a focus on advanced architectures such as low-power wireless Qi charging systems.
- Design Optimization & Quality: Ensure all hardware designs consistently meet stringent performance, reliability, and cost objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with firmware, software, mechanical engineering, product, and project management teams to translate functional requirements into manufacturable, optimized hardware solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Drive technical decision-making and provide leadership across the R&D organization, contributing to the definition of future product requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all products successfully achieve required regulatory certifications, including FCC/CE (conducted and radiated emissions), UL, and international safety compliance standards.
Requirements
What You Will Bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience. (Master's degree preferred).
- Digital & Analog Expertise: Strong working and analytical knowledge of digital electrical engineering, component selection, schematic capture, layout principles, and advanced debugging skills.
- Design Tools Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with Altium Designer, including schematic creation and complex PCB layout design.
- Microcontroller Systems: Extensive experience with microcontroller system design, including I2C, SPI, and implementing low-power wireless Qi charging in USB and BLE/WiFi environments.
- Compliance Experience: Proven experience designing for and testing products to comply with international regulatory standards (FCC/CE, UL, and international safety compliance).
