Description

Your role will be instrumental in shaping the future at one of the world's largest and most influential companies.As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms team you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incident, problem, and change management; risk management; vendor and client relationships; communications; service delivery; lifecycle management; and service evolution.
- Support administrative infrastructure delivery activities by planning, tracking, ordering, reporting, and managing consumption.
- Execute day-to-day operational duties while defining and driving MIS requirements to improve supported business processes.
- Act as the primary customer interface for day-to-day issues and queries and advocate for customers during infrastructure or business-critical events.
- Lead major-incident (P1) response by running technical bridges, coordinating stakeholders, and escalating issues appropriately.
- Escalate and resolve issues for 40x, 50x, and 60x level team members and act as a point of escalation for complex problems.
- Plan, track, and manage the effective use of technology infrastructure to optimize service delivery and cost.
- Produce and maintain operational documentation by creating original content and updating existing materials.
- Coach and mentor less experienced team members and support team management activities, including performance appraisal inputs.
- Define functional goals, priorities, and service objectives aligned to the overall GT strategy.
- Operate as a subject matter expert in 2-3 infrastructure technologies by partnering with engineering teams on bug fixes, design changes, and code upgrades.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Earn a BE/BS degree or equivalent and bring 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Lead network operations and infrastructure support efforts and run P1 technical bridges for major impacting issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in more than one infrastructure technology area.
- Apply risk and controls knowledge to ensure company-wide standards and compliance expectations are met.
- Operate effectively in a customer-centric, service-delivery environment.
- Work within a global organization, ideally in banking, exchange, or technology environments.
- Manage large-scale enterprise network topologies across routing and switching, datacenter fabrics, wireless, network security and services, load balancing, proxy, and optical transport technologies.
- Troubleshoot complex network behaviors using protocol analyzers such as Cpacket, BigSwitch, Wireshark, and Riverbed.
- Monitor and manage capacity and performance using tools such as Splunk, SevOne, and ThousandEyes.
- Use or quickly learn scripting and automation tools such as Python and Ansible and apply version and revision control practices in a Linux environment.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Hold relevant infrastructure certifications across routing and switching, datacenter technologies, wireless, security, load balancing, proxy, or optical transport.
- Specialize in multicast, low-latency networks, and market data related technologies.
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally to convey complex technical findings to management and stakeholders.
- Thrive in a mission-critical 24x7 environment by staying flexible, hands-on, and effective under pressure with multiple vendor and customer relationships.
