Description
Responsible for delivery of critical Intraday Risk Equity Derivative applications, some exclusively run out of India for global business. Multiple lines of business, complex products, and contemporary tech stack will have to be managed as part of the role.As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Banking's Equities & Derivatives Tech team, you will be responsible for engineering diverse derivative products applications that support pre-trade activities. Your role will be of a technical person with delivery responsibility for the team working in India. You are responsible for planning, designing, stakeholder and execution for the applications. You will be a go to person for technical considerations and collaborating with diverse teams having dependency in application workflow.
Job responsibilities
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks.
- Help team think of well-rounded technical solutions with good understanding of available contemporary solution options.
- Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
- Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary.
- Provides input to leadership regarding approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
- In addition, 8 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Excellent Java programming skills, concurrency with Spring
- Good at Java profiling
- Good at AI prompt engineering
- Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
- Pro-active, having intellectual rigor with Strong communication and team-working skills with exposure to Agile methodologies.
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Strong hands-on experience and recognized expert on Java and keen to understand and solve business related problems.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Having skills in React JS will help (good to have)
