ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Training Provided
Work will be performed outside in all-weather conditions, including extreme conditions. Work will be mainly in the Water/Sewer Division, but will also be expected to assist in all City work, including emergencies, grass cutting, plowing, etc.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Driving/Operating Vactor trucks, dump trucks, plow/salt trucks, pick-up trucks, vans, forklifts, front-end loaders, back hoes, small equipment, and tools
Meter reading and repair, water/sewer line repair, service calls, hydrant repair and concrete repair
Performing general equipment maintenance
Completing required paperwork
Paid Overtime

About the Water Department:
The City of Hazel Park’s Water/Sewer Department is looking for a dedicated, self-motivated, and willing to learn employee to fill the open position.
Hazel Park’s Water/Sewer Department is responsible for maintaining the city’s water/sewer infrastructure that combined is approximately over 180 miles of pipes, 650 system valves, 7500 water services, 500 fire hydrants, and 2000 street drains are in our 2-mile squared city. The department also performs required water sampling and reporting to government agencies, assisting businesses and residents with water/sewer issues, maintain a large vehicle fleet, and assist other city departments and developers as needed.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School or G.E.D. equivalent
CDL license with B Endorsement (air brake)
Tanker Endorsement within 6 months
Able to pass physical, background and drug screenings
Maintain reliable attendance
Able to perform manual labor and lift 75+ lbs.
Able to respond to after hour call-ins/emergencies (24/7)
Able to work professionally with co-workers and the public, even in stressful situations
Be willing to obtain S-4 Certification
