We have an exciting opportunity for a degreed Mechanical Engineer with preferably an EIT certification (Passed the mechanical engineering FE exam), with experience as a manufacturing/facilities engineer with a high level of mechanical aptitude, theory and proficiency. Very good current references required.
Manufacturing/Facilities Engineer Job Duties:
- Help refine our existing preventative maintenance program, making it more robust, for our pharmaceutical over the counter processing and packaging plant.
- Help coordinate and supervise staff selected to perform preventative maintenance and repairs as well as have the capability of personally preforming most repairs and PM duties
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks in a variety of areas with a very high level of mechanical aptitude, and complying with all regulatory codes
- Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (production, manufacturing, administration, purchasing, etc) to coordinate maintenance, repair, and to resolve issues
- Keep equipment operational by overseeing/conducting monthly preventative maintenance; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and systems, reporting any abnormalities and hazards immediately.
- Ensure that logging of all maintenance functions and repairs performed are completed neatly, accurately, and promptly.
- Identify equipment faults, investigate production problems and repair equipment quickly and efficiently
- Monitor and improve our current inventory systems for spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment. Initiate reordering when necessary.
- Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
- Diagnose and solve complex mechanical problems with minimal assistance
- Assist the production departments in enforcing the safety and environmental program for the operations department and reviews safety standards to ensure maximum safety for all the operators.
- Make recommendations to improve the efficiency of maintenance operations and our systems’ designs.
- Communicate with outside manufacturers/vendors to replace perishable tooling, as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Coordinate and perform maintenance on plant electrical, mechanical HVAC, plumbing and other systems plus general maintenance with limited supervision
- Other duties as needed or assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) Required
- Mechanical Engineering EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) preferred
- Minimum Five (5) years of senior mechanical/electrical experience required
- High Level of Mechanical aptitude, theory and proficiency
- Must be able to pass required engineering aptitude test, field test
- Use and understand technical data, technical manuals, and manufacturers’ handbooks, P&IDs, schematics, as well as engineering instructions.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and plumbing is required.
- Basic computer skills, including, spreadsheets and software applications.
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment in a Pharma, Biotech, or food industry experience, knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) a plus
- Good organizational skills required
- Knowledge of robotics a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to proper communicate information of moderate complexity to peers and management team.
