Job Summary
We are seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the development of digital architectures and authoritativeMA at the national security level. This role supports engineering efforts within a Modeling, Analytics, and Simulation Sciences environment and focuses on building authoritative system models that contribute directly to defense and intelligence missions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers and software developers to create, maintain, and analyze system and system-of-systems models using modern MBSE methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain authoritative system architecture and behavior models using SysML
Apply MBSE methodologies to complex systems and systems-of-systems
Create and manage engineering artifacts, models, and integrated datasets
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, software developers, contractors, and government stakeholders
Produce and present technical documentation, model artifacts, and analysis results
Support analysis and decision-making through model-based data and architecture insights
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience
Strong knowledge of SysML for system architecture and behavior modeling
Proficiency with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining models for complex systems
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Active TS/SCI security clearance
Desired Qualifications
Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or relevant professional certifications (e.g., OCSMP, INCOSE CSEP, PMP)
Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python
Experience with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF, UAF, or similar
Ability to analyze architectural and engineering data to solve complex problems and recommend improvements
Familiarity with aerospace or defense systems and processes
Knowledge of modeling and simulation (M&S) tools and practices
