As Charm looks to the future, the organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on HR leader to help strengthen its people practices, support operational excellence, and continue building a high-performing national retail team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the President, the National Director, Human Resources will lead Charm’s national HR function and play a critical role in shaping the company’s people strategy.
This leader will act as a trusted advisor to the executive team and regional leaders across Canada, ensuring HR programs and policies support the business while fostering a positive, high-performance culture. The role will oversee HR operations including employee relations, talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, payroll, and compliance across a multi-province retail environment.
The successful candidate will bring both strategic perspective and operational discipline; developing scalable HR programs while supporting managers and teams in a fast-paced retail environment.
What You’ll Do
As National Director, Human Resources, you will:
- Provide strategic HR counsel to the President and executive leadership team.
- Lead and mentor the HR and payroll team, ensuring high-quality people services across the organization.
- Partner with regional and store leadership to support workforce planning, staffing strategies, and leadership development.
- Oversee employee relations matters including investigations, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline processes.
- Implement and enhance performance management practices that promote accountability, engagement, and development.
- Guide recruitment and onboarding strategies to attract and retain talented team members across Charm’s retail network.
- Develop training and leadership development initiatives in partnership with operational leaders.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and payroll programs to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Ensure HR practices comply with employment standards, health and safety legislation, and regulatory requirements across multiple provinces.

- Proven ability to lead HR teams and build strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
