- NDT Level II Inspector
Description
The position of NDT Level II Inspector (Penetrant Testing) will train and perform duties in the disciplines of non-destructive testing. This position will be participating in a proven on-the-job training program (OJT) and the NAS410 structured certification program to attain Level II certification. The National Aerospace Standard 410 is an industry standard program for the qualification and certification of non-destructive testing (NDT) personnel.
Under the guidance of the company Level III, exercise the privileges of company certifications to prepare, process and inspect parts in various stages of repair using nondestructive testing (NDT) methods. This position will work alongside experienced NDT Technicians that allow continuous interaction of techniques, skill knowledge, print reading and interpretation.
The primary parts processed will be turbine engine components.
Through our extensive in-house training program, (OJT) (NAS410) the successful applicant will be instructed via a series of computer based and hands-on training, the necessary skills and obtain the required hours and certification credentials for the position of Level II.
This position operates from an all-new state-of-the-art facility with ultra-modern technology and equipment throughout and a climate-controlled environment.
Requirements
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Complete the on-the-job training program and NAS410 certification requirements for Level II.
2. Perform NDT inspections in accordance with the manufacturers original equipment manual (OEM) procedures in penetrant testing to detect surface defects in turbine engine components.
3. Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection and accurately record and document results.
4. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the scope of limitation of the technique or method used for part certification.
5. Part processing includes fluorescent penetrant inspection (FPI), fluorescent magnetic particle inspection (FMPI).
6. Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standards.
7. Receive guidance or supervision from a certified Level II or Level III in various processing methods when necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. One year of experience as a Level I or II in NDT methods for which qualification and /or certification is required.
2. The ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions accurately, including reading and interpretation of shop drawings.
3. Previous experience in the use of overhead cranes.
4. Shown a previous ability to successfully pass skill level tests in other trades or disciplines.
