Camp dates: 6/29/26- 8/20/26
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:15am - 4:15pm
Orientation: Week of June 22nd (evenings)
*There will be some pre-camp work/meetings in the spring
About Westchester Summer Day: Westchester Summer Day is located on the Long Island Sound in Mamaroneck, NY, on a 26-acre campus. Our 500 campers come from all over Westchester County, NYC, and beyond to spend their summer at our program. We are a service-driven day camp program for the Jewish community, providing superior staff-to-child ratios, flexible scheduling, a daily hot lunch, and a wide variety of summer activities, including swimming, challenge courses, nature programs, arts & crafts, music, sports, and more.
The Summer Camp Pool Operator is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the camp’s swimming pool facilities. This role ensures compliance with health and safety regulations while supporting a fun, safe, and welcoming aquatic environment for campers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain pool systems, including filtration, pumps, and chemical treatment systems
Monitor and adjust pool chemical levels to ensure water quality meets local and state health codes
Perform routine inspections of pool facilities, equipment, and surrounding areas
Maintain accurate records of water testing, chemical usage, and maintenance activities
Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
Coordinate with lifeguards and aquatics staff to support daily pool operations
Ensure pool areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards
Follow all camp policies, emergency procedures, and safety protocols
This position will work with the WSD Aquatics Assistant to supervise the lifeguards, scheduling, and maintaining the pool deck.
Salary Range: $8,000.00 - $10,000.00 for the summer season.

Requirements
Requirements
Must 21+ years old with at least 1 year of experience
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or equivalent (required or ability to obtain before start date)
Knowledge of pool operations, water chemistry, and safety regulations
Experience working with pool mechanical systems preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
Additional certifications: Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Response to Emergencies (required or ability to obtain before start date)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
