Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer for Lutron based out of the Virginia Manufacturing Facility, you will take ownership of high-stakes projects from day one. You will be a key part of the mechanical engineering team and grow your skills while developing innovative solutions. Your contributions will help to maintain our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems. By working in a collaborative environment, you will be exposed to, and trained by, industry experts who will aid in your professional development.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for all phases of the design process, including
- Generating detailed designs for review 
- Conducting analysis through prototyping, testing and qualification 
- Ensuring designs are suited for high-volume manufacturability 
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be focused on improving the manufacturing process by:
- Analyzing the performance of current manufacturing tools and processes to determine methods to improve safety, reliability and efficiency 
- Engaging with new product design teams to develop manufacturing tools to meet the unique needs of the new product launches 
- Collaborating with peers across North America to align processes between facilities and establishing the best tooling practices 
- Developing electro-mechanical systems capable of solving complex problems 
- Driving automation of error proofing through customized solutions 
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering 
- Electrical and software development experience for tooling is a benefit 
- Creo 3D CAD Modeling or equivalent experience preferred 
- Fabrication knowledge and experience preferred 
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 
- 1-4 years of experience in a related field
