The University of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Recording Engineer: 12-month, Full-Time, Professional-Track. Start Date: July 1, 2026.
Responsibilities: The Recording Engineer provides support for School of Music performances both on and off campus — including events held at the School of Music, the Koger Center and other venues. Responsibilities include audio recording, video capture, livestreaming and archiving. The position manages recording control rooms and ensures the consistent quality and reliability of AV production for the School. This role is also responsible for designing and maintaining recording facilities, developing audio technology policies, hiring, training and supervising student audio technicians, and teaching recording courses to both music and non-music majors.

Requirements
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in audio production or related field is required. Master’s degree with teaching experience preferred. The position requires experience in live streaming and production work along with advanced proficiency in industry standard audio and video production software. The successful candidate will have the ability to identify and locate selections from musical scores and possess expertise in the selection, installation, and operation of audio recording, editing, and video systems. Experience across multiple musical genres desired —including classical, jazz, and popular styles. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
