Description
Job Summary
Provides direct and indirect patient care within the Medical/Surgical setting, ensuring safe, timely, and effective nursing interventions. Communicates with physicians, nursing leadership, and co-workers regarding changes in a patients condition, diagnostic results, and symptoms. Responds promptly and accurately to fluctuations in patient status and treatment response. Responsible for initiating the computerized Plan of Care upon admission and performing general nursing duties across departments with appropriate supervision.
Note: Specific departments may require additional qualifications, certifications, or competencies. These may be obtained through the appropriate HR representative.

Requirements
Qualifications
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Evidence of continuing education appropriate to skill level and practice area. Current active RN license; BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Specialty-specific certifications preferred (e.g., IV certification, CPI).
Desired: BSN.
Experience
Required: None.
Desired: Previous clinical experience.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to:
Hear and interpret sound, with or without assistive devices.
Communicate verbally.
Visually perceive objects and details.
Extend arms and hands in any direction.
Grasp, hold, turn, or manipulate objects with hands.
Perform fine motor tasks with fingers.
Detect characteristics of materials including size, shape, temperature, and texture.
Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Additional requirements:
Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently; handle objects up to 25 lbs. regularly.
Continuous walking and standing.
Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
Rare lifting over 50 lbs.

Working Conditions
Indoor environment with possible exposure to infection, contagious diseases, hazardous materials, and equipment.
Occasional exposure to combative patients.
Variable noise levels.
Fast-paced environment with multiple stimuli, unpredictable situations, and critical conditions.
