About this role

Who We Are
Metallic Minerals is advancing two polymetallic exploration projects: La Plata in southwest Colorado and Keno Silver in the Yukon, Canada. The La Plata Project lies in the San Juan National Forest, about 25 miles northwest of Durango, and includes private historical mine parcels controlled by Metallic. Straddling Montezuma and La Plata Counties, it hosts a porphyry-style inferred resource of 181 million tons grading 0.36% copper equivalent (copper, silver, gold, platinum and palladium) containing 1.3 billion pounds of copper. We are also evaluating more than 20 critical minerals, 14 of them strategic materials for which the United States relies on foreign supply.

Our values are Safety, Transparency, Professionalism and Commitment. The project has been active since 2019, with structured community engagement since 2024. Learn more at www.laplataproject.com and metallic-minerals.com.

About the Role
Reporting to the La Plata Project Manager, this newly created role handles regulatory reporting, permit coordination, and procurement and contract management for the La Plata Project, with occasional support to the Keno Silver Project. The role has no direct reports.

You will manage requirements of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS), the primary state authority for exploration drilling in Colorado, and prepare permits with the U.S. Forest Service and other federal, state and county agencies. You will also run Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Expressions of Interest (EOIs), tenders, bid evaluations and award recommendations. Exploration permitting experience is valued but not required, as the Environment and Permitting Advisor will provide technical guidance.

As the first person in the role, you will set up its templates, registers and procedures, and take full ownership of producing detailed, accurate documents independently.

Key Requirements

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Permitting: Manage DRMS notices and prepare permit applications for drilling, geophysical surveys, road and airborne access, and water supply, with guidance from the Environment and Permitting Advisor and Senior Geoscientist. Coordinate with the USFS, CDPHE, the Colorado Division of Water Resources, and La Plata and Montezuma Counties, attending meetings and leading site tours for regulators.
  • Compliance and reporting: Maintain a permit and compliance register covering conditions, reporting deadlines, renewals and bonding. Review every submission for accuracy, as permit documents become public record. Track USFS permits and county filings, and support reporting requirements.
