Description
SUMMARY:
The Regulatory Compliance & Technical Support Specialist supports the development, documentation, and maintenance of globally compliant home fragrance and personal care products. This role blends regulatory compliance responsibilities with technical application support for internal systems used to evaluate formula compliance and generate required documentation. The ideal candidate has foundational regulatory experience and a strong interest in software and technology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regulatory Compliance Support
- Assist with interpreting and applying global fragrance regulatory requirements.
- Support formula reviews, raw material documentation requests, and product assessments.
- Maintain regulatory databases, documentation libraries, and SDS archives.
- Assist with preparing and updating compliance reports, ingredient disclosures, labels, and customer documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate regulatory information flows through the product development process.
- Develop an understanding of how regulatory processes integrate with compliance systems.
Technical & Systems Support
- Provide daily support for Product Vision (PLM) used for formula management and compliance evaluation.
- Help manage data integrity including raw material specs, usage limits, regulation updates and formula data.
- Run and maintain automated compliance jobs, data queries, and document generation processes.
- Assist in developing and maintaining templates, standardized reports, and workflows that improve regulatory efficiency.
- Learn foundational SQL queries, basic scripting concepts, and structured data workflows (training provided internally).
- Troubleshoot basic system issues and coordinate with the software developer for more advanced support.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate regulatory and system requirements to cross-functional partners both verbally and through clear written documentation.
- Support training efforts for internal users of Product Vision and other compliance tools.
- Coordinate with IT to test new features, troubleshoot issues, and support enhancements.
Requirements
Required
- 1–3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, product stewardship, quality, IT, or related field (fragrance, cosmetics, home/personal care, chemical, or similar industries preferred).
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for learning technical systems and data tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working in database-driven environments.
- Excellent organization, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Preferred
- Experience with PLM/ERP systems.
- Experience querying databases using SQL and creating reports within software systems is preferred; general exposure to programming concepts (e.g., C#, VB .NET).
- Fragrance regulations such as: GHS; EU (CLP, REACH, ECHA, PCN); DOT; OSHA; DSL/NDSL; CA (RTK, VOC, PROP65); EPA (RCRA, TSCA); FDA (MoCRA); CPSC; IFRA/FCA.
- Experience generating SDS, compliance certificates, or technical documentation.
