- RN, Trauma Registrar & Outreach
Description
The RN, Trauma Registrar/Outreach oversees all components of Trauma Registry operations including identifying cases, data abstraction, data collection, data entry and retrieval, data quality and integrity, data analysis, display and statistical conversion, generating reports, and performing system maintenance of the registry. The RN, Trauma Registrar/Outreach is charged with assisting with the annual report, conducting a variety of data analysis and reports, coordinating and preparing for survey by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The RN, Trauma Registrar/Outreach is an individual contributor and a subject matter expert in state, regional, and national regulatory agencies providing required data to ensure the accreditation of the hospital’s trauma designation, collaborates with Trauma Program leadership to develop and assure the quality and accuracy of the trauma registry database.
Requirements
Experience: 2 years of nursing experience working in a surgical, critical, or emergency care setting is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and variety of software applications.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university is required.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas required.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
- TNCC/ENPC required
- AAAM AIS15 certification preferred
- ICD 10 Coding certification preferred
- Trauma Data Registry Course preferred
- CAISS certification preferred
*Note: Employees in this role are assigned to the Trauma Center and are required to achieve and maintain the Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) certification, ICD 10 coding certification, Trauma Data Registry Course certification, and AAAM AIS Course certification.
