Description

The Senior Building Inspector will serve as a key member of the Building Safety Division to ensure all of Eastvale’s residential, commercial, and industrial properties comply with the most up-to-date building codes. The individual selected for the position will need to possess a “can-do” attitude and a “get it done” approach to succeed in a fast-paced environment while working closely with a talented, energetic, and highly engaged team of City talent.

•  An experienced professional with the ability to perform highly detailed
  inspections to meet safety and building regulations
• An individual knowledgeable of building codes and construction methods
  that can identify and develop creative solutions to complex safety hazards
  faced in building construction
• A collaborative individual who can work in partnership with the residents
  and developers within Eastvale to enhance safety within buildings and
  construction site
• A champion of the Building Safety team that is dedicated to safety,
  education, and making certain that all parties involved understand the
  importance of building code compliance
• A leader with a strong sense of character, with uncompromising ethics and
  values, including honesty, integrity, and courageous decision-making

Requirements

• The following are the minimum qualifications required for the Senior Building Inspector position:
• EDUCATION: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in building and construction.
• EXPERIENCE: Three years of increasingly responsible experience in inspecting industrial, commercial, and residential construction is required.
• SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of at least one Building Inspector Certificate and two other trade-related Inspector certifications from the
  International Code Council (ICC), or possession of an Inspector's Certificate as a Combination Inspector from the International Code Council (ICC).
