Our client is one of Mexico's leading diversified business groups, with a strong presence across the mining, commercial, industrial, financial, agribusiness, and education sectors.
Through an integrated structure, its portfolio companies operate under a shared strategic vision, generating synergies and strengthening operational and financial performance. The group includes several market-leading institutions and is recognized for its long-term focus and financial discipline.
They are currently seeking a Senior Investment Associate to play a key role in leading the execution of M&A transactions and strategic investment initiatives across the group's portfolio. Based in Mexico City, this role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and high-impact decision-making at the corporate level. What the job involves
- Lead strategic M&A initiatives across the group's portfolio, evaluating acquisitions, divestitures, and capital allocation decisions aligned with long-term corporate objectives
- Conduct in-depth valuation analyses and investment assessments, including DCF, multiples, and scenario modeling, to support strategic decision-making rather than fee-driven execution
- Drive buy-side and sell-side transaction processes, overseeing execution from initial analysis through closing, ensuring alignment with the group's strategic priorities
- Perform strategic opportunity analysis, assessing market positioning, competitive dynamics, synergies, and long-term value creation potential
- Advise senior leadership on capital deployment and portfolio optimization, providing data-driven recommendations grounded in rigorous financial and strategic analysis
- Oversee comprehensive due diligence processes, coordinating internal business units and external advisors to identify risks and integration considerations
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring high-quality analytical output and disciplined execution standards
- Collaborate closely with portfolio company leadership, acting as a strategic partner rather than a transactional intermediary
- Exceptional financial modeling and valuation expertise, with advanced Excel proficiency, capable of independently building and reviewing complex three-statement models, DCF analyses, and transaction structures at an expert level
- Proven M&A transaction experience, able to contribute immediately without requiring foundational training and take ownership of workstreams from day one
- Strong technical and analytical rigor, with sharp attention to detail, structured thinking, and the ability to challenge assumptions through data-driven insights
- Solid understanding of corporate finance, capital allocation, and strategic evaluation of investment opportunities, beyond purely transactional execution
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage transaction workstreams, coordinating multiple stakeholders while maintaining high-quality output under demanding timelines
- High intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in building a long-term career in corporate M&A, particularly within a strategy-driven, internal investment function
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to clearly articulate complex financial and strategic concepts to senior stakeholders
- Cultural fit and professional maturity, combining technical excellence with collaboration, integrity, and a balanced, sustainable approach to performance and work-life integration
- English language proficiency is a must
