Responsibilities
- Use a variety of land survey instruments to support a field crew in their daily operations to gather data for various surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction layout
- Assist in completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief; communicate progress and address problems
- Operate land survey equipment including robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, terrestrial 3D laser scanners, automatic and digital levels
- Utilize survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations
- Read and interpret various types of maps and plans
- Complete neat and orderly field notes with accurate measurements for land survey operations with supervision from Crew Chief
- Load and unload trucks with land survey equipment and supplies
- Clean and maintain land survey equipment, tools, and vehicle
- Follow company safety procedures, policies, and practices
- Ability to travel out of state to project locations (Full Per Diem included)
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Valid, current driver's license required
- One year industry experience
- Minimum knowledge of land surveying practices and performance of basic types of surveys, mathematical computations, and field operations
- Able to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather conditions and environments
- Available to travel/stay out of town for work as needed
