Responsibilities
We are seeking a Sustainability Intern to support our Director of Sustainability in advancing ADS's environmental initiatives. This role will assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for key sustainability metrics, integration of new sites, and development of strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze monthly sustainability metrics (energy, GHG emissions, water, waste, recycled material).
- Support integration of newly acquired sites into sustainability reporting systems.
- Assist in updating GHG emissions baseline for science-based targets.
- Update biodiversity and water risk assessments.
- Coordinate data collection for diesel usage in on-site mobile equipment.
- Contribute to Scope 3 GHG emissions estimates using the PERSEFONI platform.
- Develop business case for fleet conversion to biodiesel.
- Engage suppliers for LCA/EPD data on virgin resin.
- Update GRI Index for FY2026 Sustainability Report.
- Perform other sustainability-related projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate students with sophomore status or higher; juniors preferred.
- Minimum GPA: 3.0.
- Preferred majors: Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability (EEDS). Other majors considered with relevant experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interest in advancing sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with creativity in developing solutions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Additional Details
- Full-time Summer 2026 (JuneAugust), 40 hours/week; part-time during 20262027 academic year.
- Hourly rate: $18$21 (based on academic standing).
- Position available Summer 2026.
