Description

The Transportation Manager is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day transportation operations of Daily Living Centers. The Transportation Manager supervises team members, delegating tasks accordingly, monitoring performance, and conducting regular follow-ups.

Essential functions

        Direct the daily work and safety of drivers and participants ensuring safe transport to and from centers

        Ensure driver compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. ODOT, ModivCare, OSHA, etc.) and ensure that electronic logs are kept current and accurate; maintain mileage records and other reports as needed

        Direct labor hours, travel, fuel and consumable supplies within budget, maximizing time and cost efficiencies; prepare work schedules including extra workdays and shifts as needed

        Monitor effectiveness of daily routing activities

        Interpret, train, and consistently enforce DLC Policies and Procedures

        Perform management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations

        Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner.

        Demonstrate skill in making independent decisions in support of company policies and procedures in a timely manner 

        Capable of working with peers and leadership in a proactive and constructive manner

        Ability to manage the pressures and stress associated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere and customer service issues.

Requirements

Required education and experience
        Bachelor’s degree required plus 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with staff, participants, and their families

 
Additional eligibility requirements
        Current Driver’s License with proof of current personal automobile insurance

        Safety and Sensitivity training

        Lifts, carries, and pushes equipment, or supplies exceeding 25lbs.
