The Department of Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University invites applications for an open-rank tenure or tenure-track faculty position. The search seeks to identify outstanding applicants with expertise in innovative chemical biology techniques to advance mechanistic understanding of disease and develop new therapeutic and diagnostic tools. The appraoches may include chemoproteomics, the design and development of novel chemical probes, synthetic medicinal chemistry. protein engineering, and advanced computational methods. The candidate's research area will align with the department's existing strengths in molecular oncology, visual sciences, infectious diseases, cellular signaling, and neurological disorders. Synergy exists with other interdepartmental research centers throughout the university. inclucing Therapeutics Discovery and Development Collaborative, the Chemical Biology Program, the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Center for Mitochondrial Disease and Therapeutics, the Cleveland Center for Membrane and Structural Biology, and the Center for RNA Science and Therapeutics. The Department has vigorous interdisceplinary graduate programs (MS and PhD), and actively engages in medical and dental education. Graduate education is supported by two NIH sponsored training grants administered within the department. The Department of Pharmacology offers competitive startup packages, excellent laboratory space and core facilities, and a highly collaborative environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have a PhD and/or MD with a strong record of research accomplishments. Successful candidates are expected to develop innovative and externally funded research programs, participate in departmental education programs, and contribute to service opportunities. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level will have significant postdoctoral research experience with the potential for developing an extramurally funded and nationally recognized research program; candidates at the Associate Professor level will lead a funded and nationally recognized research program; and candidates at the Professor level will be internationally recognized leaders. Rank and tunure designation will be commensurate with experience.

Salary range for position is:
$113,300 to $147,500
