Duties

• Deliver high-quality safety training sessions aligned with USCG standards and best practices
• Assess trainees’ understanding through practical exercises, evaluations, and feedback sessions
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of USCG regulations, safety protocols, and industry trends to ensure training relevance and accuracy
• Provide guidance on safety procedures, emergency response techniques, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Support continuous improvement of training materials by incorporating feedback and latest industry developments

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of US Coast Guard regulations, maritime safety standards, and compliance procedures (USCG approval to teach courses will be required if not already secured)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively
• Experience working within an educational setting is highly desirable
• Ability to adapt training methods to different learning styles and skill levels
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple training sessions and documentation efficiently
• Commitment to fostering a safe learning environment that encourages active participation
• **Preferred qualifications: USCG 500 Ton License; or Lifeboatman an Proficiency in Survival Craft endorsements; experience as desk or engine room on vessels equipped with lifeboats and designated duties as the person in charge of a lifeboat or equivalent military experience.
