Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure patients receive quality care
- Help provide oversight/care to both stable and unstable patients
- Assists nurses with patient restraint (canine and feline), including fractious patients
- Help obtain patient diagnostics- fill appropriate specimen tubes
- Print cage cards and collars
- Enter diagnostic requests and run appropriate diagnostics
- Help manage recheck appointments
- Set up and assist with radiographs
- Set up and maintain oxygen kennels
- Set up for procedures
- Stock ICU area
- Restock CPR cart
- Clean (tables, cages, isolation ward, sweep/mop floors, empty garbage, laundry, etc.)
Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Veterinary Assistant experience required--ER experience highly preferred
- Basic accurate and professional medical record-keeping: searching for patients, creating appointments, updating clinical records
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic medications and uses for both injectable and oral medications
- Ability to obtain patient vitals - recognize abnormalities in pulse, respirations, temperature, and capillary refill time
- Basic understanding of venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Demonstrate ability to perform and assist with CPR
- Set up IV fluid therapy and understand basic differences in types of fluids

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $20-25 hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
