- Water Facilities Lead Operator
Description
The Water Facilities Lead Operator organizes, operates, maintains, administers, and supervises the municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities and serves as the Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC). Responsibilities include water supply, water treatment and storage, wastewater collection and treatment, and operation and maintenance of distribution and collection mains. This position supervises the Water Facilities Operators and reports to the Public Works Director.
The City’s Water Treatment Facility utilizes three state-of-the-art skid-mounted Evoqua Memcor CMF-L low-pressure ultrafiltration membranes to produce high-quality effluent water. The Water Treatment Facility has a firm capacity of 1.53 MGD and a total capacity of 2.28 MGD.
The City’s Wastewater Treatment Facility recently received significant upgrades to increase capacity to 0.995 MGD and produce an exceptional effluent. The Facility operates one of the first independent, full-scale NeredaTM aerobic granular sludge (AGS) plants in the United States. The improvements include a new headworks with mechanical bar screen and grit removal, influent equalization and pumping, AGS reactors, tertiary filtration, UV disinfection, aerobic digestion, and screw press dewatering.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) Credential and three or more years of supervisory experience in a related field. Must possess and maintain current Colorado Class B level Water and Wastewater Operator Certification or higher and Colorado Class II or higher Water Distribution and Collections Operator Certification, or must obtain required certifications within six months of hire.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a hiring range of $39.69 - $46.15 per hour, plus generous benefits for health, dental, vision, long-term disability, life, deferred compensation, retirement, and recreation.
