Director of Clinical Quality -  Emergency Medicine

The Department of Emergency Medicine is actively recruiting a talented, full-time BC/BE emergency physician at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an interest in clinical quality and safety. Opportunity also exists to become involved with the ED Observation Unit.

The Department is home to an enthusiastic group of academic emergency physicians who are committed to education, scholarship, research, and outstanding clinical care. We host the only 4-year emergency medicine residency program in the state.

University Hospital is a bustling Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center, with 95K annual ED visits and a 30-bed ED Observation Unit. The hospital cares for the population of Newark as well as its surrounding suburban communities.

Newark, a diverse city that is the largest in New Jersey, has been participating in the rejuvenation of the New York metropolitan area. Newark has excellent cuisine, a burgeoning arts scene, and is a tech sector hub for the northeast corridor. New York City is easily reached by rail or car for living or enjoyment.

We are looking for someone with training or experience in ED operations or quality, a strong work ethic, great interpersonal skills, and a vision for excellence within an academic medical center.
