BioLogic USA is currently searching for a Technical Sales Engineer to cover the majority of the West Coast Region and represent our product line of electrochemical and battery test systems. BioLogic USA Technical Sales Engineers provide our customers with instrumentation and application knowledge to help them become expert users of our instrumentation, resulting in significant contributions to their research. We also travel to our customers, spend time in their laboratories learning about their research and demonstrating to them how our instrumentation can be best applied to their research.
Reporting directly to the Sales and Strategic Marketing Manager this position will cover a territory including WA, OR, ID, NV, AZ, AK and all of CA outside of the Bay Area. This position will be responsible for:
- Developing and retaining a working knowledge of the Bio-Logic portfolio of products and their key specifications and capabilities, as well as develop a familiarity with the applications and markets for which these products are needed and utilized.
- Expertly presenting and promoting the portfolio of products to a wide range of clientele ranging from graduate students to professors, as well as industry researchers, including executive officers of high-tech organizations.
- Responding promptly to direct, daily customer requests from email, telephone, and website inquiries, and ensure those requests are addressed to the customers’ needs and satisfaction.
- Technical Support of our customer base helping to ensure customer success.
- Lead generation and cultivation through internet searches, organic growth within current customer locations, colleague referral and current database mining.
- Utilizing Bio-Logic’s CRM tool for entering and tracking all daily customer interactions, including the preparation and issuing of quotations, monitoring and forecasting open opportunities, and entering all relevant communications to ensure the best customer care and support possible.
- Regular travel throughout the territory (typically planned well in advance, but sometimes on shorter notice) with the purpose of following up on recent sales and checking on existing customers for satisfaction and product feedback, as well as following up on any open opportunities and seeking new potential customers.
- Attending select trade show exhibitions at relevant conferences and meetings.
- Preparing and conducting product and demonstration trainings, onsite or remote as needed.
- Reading and being up-to-date on any Technical or Application Notes, Field Memos, or Technical Supplements including New Product Introductions
- Continually seeking and interpreting competitive information and report, through weekly meetings to help inform and guide senior leadership decisions
- Other duties and responsibilities as necessary and assigned
Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Have a B.S. Degree in Chemistry or Engineering
- Be personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills (prior experience selling scientific instrumentation is a plus), adept at presenting technical information clearly and concisely
- Have the willingness and ability to travel overnight at least 25%
- Have direct laboratory experience with electrochemical research to include the use of potentiostats/galvanostats and/or battery cyclers. Experience with BioLogic Instrumentation will be considered a very strong advantage.
The successful candidate may:
- Have an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Chemistry with an emphasis in electrochemistry
- Have an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in another hard science with electrochemical laboratory experience
- Have a scientific instrumentation selling background with sufficient knowledge of electrochemical instrumentation
- Have experience with Customer Management Databases (CRMs)
