Hexcel is currently seeking a Process Development Engineer for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Fibers Research and Technology location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

• Lead product development research activities to create intellectual property.
• Work in tandem with other scientists and engineers in the scale-up of novel processes.
• Process development activities to create improved products.
• Lead investigations to develop understanding of multi-scale composite structure-property relationships.
• Provide testing and analytical support to engineering, operations, and quality functions through leveraging existing resources and expertise to identify root causes and solve systemic problems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience with preference given to candidates with industrial research, product development, or scaleup experience.
• Knowledge of industry-standard characterization techniques and material testing.
• Ability to apply design of experiment concepts to chemical and composite processes.  Ability to perform measurement system analyses on new and existing industrial processes.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
