Description

JMS Naval Architects is recruiting experienced maritime professionals as well as recent graduates who demonstrate a commitment to learn, collaborate and innovate in the marine industry.  Successful candidates will be responsible for providing naval architecture and marine engineering support for commercial vessels such as tugs, research vessels, tank barges, crane barges, heavy lift vessels, dry docks, passenger vessels, and work boats.

JMS offices are located along the Mystic River in downtown Mystic, CT, halfway between Boston and New York. Requirements

The position requires an engineering degree in the marine field and a strong passion for anything that floats.  Some travel and fieldwork is required and candidates must have the ability and desire to climb around ships from the bilges to the mast. Some project assignments may require a valid driver’s license, current passport, and/or TWIC card. Applicants must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Candidates should have familiarity with classification society standards, USCG regulations, and vessel design principles. They must be able to efficiently organize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Excellent communications and computer skills are required.
