Description

This office-based position involves the design of site grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater management plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This includes the processing for permits and approvals and administrating their implementation during construction.

Responsibilities include:

• Serve as a technical expert on civil design projects
• Prepare project site and construction plans and specifications using local and state standards
• Track permits with local, county, and state reviewing agencies
• Coordinate with field crews and contractors and conduct onsite inspections as needed
• Assist project manager with client contact and communication
• Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications
• Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents
• Stormwater management analysis and design conforming to governing agency standards
• Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them
• Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
• Current P.E. license issued by the State of Michigan
• Five (5) years minimum of applicable experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and associate design tools
• Experience developing site civil plans and designs, soil and erosion control plans, stormwater modeling software, and permitting
• Enjoys working with a team
• Ability to think critically and demonstrate client management skills
• Familiarity with personal computers and common office-related software
