The Blue Wave compliance teams ensure committees and other organizations comply with federal, state, and local election laws. We provide full-service accounting customized to each client’s day-to-day operations in addition to generating and filing disclosure reports. Our responsibilities also include detailed record keeping, establishing payroll for staff, filing relevant forms with other state and federal agencies as required, and providing regular financial reports to the client team.
Responsibilities
Associate responsibilities include:
- Mail processing including data entry, screening for compliance permissibility, reconciling and batching contributions, and assisting with banking deposits - Assist with recording financial transactions in accounting software (QuickBooks) - Recording Journal entries - Tracking contributions and contributors - Reconciling bank accounts - Accrual and Cash accounting systems - Assist with grant tracking - Maintaining data integrity including merging duplicates records in databases, obtaining required donor information, and reporting uniformity - Review and manage financial data and records with a high degree of accuracy - Maintain accurate client record retention in accordance with Federal Election Commission and/or state and local regulations - Assist with non-profit tax preparation and charitable registrations - Promptly respond to and manage a diverse array of requests, and communicate effectively with colleagues

- Ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines and prioritize tasks is essential - Exceedingly organized with excellent attention to detail - Discretion and professional approach to sensitive information - Proficiency with Quick Books, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office - Ability to learn general campaign finance regulations for various types of committees - Ability to be in-person daily in our Seattle, WA office - 1-2 years of campaign experience preferred
