Description

 TITLE: COORDINATOR, HUMAN RESOURCES 

LEVEL: COORDINATOR III 

FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT 

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, HUMAN RESOURCES 

DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Collaborate with the Executive Director of Human Resources and Director(s) of Principal Leadership in providing leadership, coordination and support to administrative, certified and classified staff. Provide support in the delivery of human resource services and provide information to employees regarding processes, policies, regulations and contract language. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Administer a wide variety of human resource policies and programs for the purpose of conforming to district policies, relevant laws, contracts, and agreements. 
  • Provide support to the Director(s) of Principal Leadership, Principals and Department Supervisors in areas related to investigations, discipline, staffing and evaluation. 
  • Manage the employment process, including ESC hiring and staffing for the purpose of meeting district requirements while complying with established guidelines and assisting in interviewing and selection of candidates, as needed. 
  • Oversee HR systems, and ensure accuracy of data (i.e. - Frontline, staff database, volunteer background check system, etc.) 
  • Provide HR assistance to Dublin Support Association (DSA)/ Dublin Education Association (DEA), as well as, participate in negotiations and attend meetings, as needed. 
  • Lead substitute management to include working closely with the Education Service Center of Central Ohio and HR administrative staff on the assignment of district and long-term substitutes, as well as, disciplinary actions related to substitute staff. 
  • Provide guidance on student teacher and intern placement in the District. Works collaboratively with college and university placement coordinators 
  • Oversee the annual regulatory compliance training program (Public School Works) for all staff. 
  • Serve as the Supplemental Committee and Master Teacher Committee chairperson. 
  • Ensure compliance with the district evaluation processes for all staff, and timely completion of evaluation documents for administrative, certified and classified staff members. 
  • Manage the Ohio Evaluation System to include beginning and end of year set-up, processes and reporting; work closely with Building Principals on system and staffing-related issues. 
  • Serve as the Resident Educator Coordinator and work closely with the Resident Educator leads, mentors and facilitators. 
  • Manage the Professional Growth system to ensure that professional development and course approvals are approved in a timely manner. 
  • Serve as a member of the LPDC committee and work closely with HR administrative staff on the annual licensure renewal process. 
  • Oversee FMLA and other leave requests and provide support to HR administrative staff as needed. 
  • Coordinate processing of unemployment compensation and worker’s compensation claims, along with submission of the annual Public Employees Risk Reduction Program reporting. Attend monthly meetings of the Capital Area Safety Council. 
  • Serve as District Title IX Coordinator, in addition to other HR administrative staff. 
  • Coordinate classified annual awards program in conjunction with the Public Information Office. 
  • Manage the Dublin Employee scholarship award program. 
  • Responds to information requests from within and outside the District regarding personnel-related records-related information. 
  • Oversee the maintenance of all personnel records. 
  • Represent the district at local, state, and regional activities/committees upon the request of the superintendent . 
  • Communicate with the public, the Board, and staff on human resource issues from time to time. 
  • Work collaboratively with the HR team to improve processes and to provide excellent customer service. 
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required. 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Recommend policy appropriate to assigned areas. 
  • Attend and prepare reports for the Board of Education as needed. 
  • Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner. 
  • Attend meetings and conferences designed to enhance professional qualifications. 
  • Exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgment. 
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times. 
  • Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents. 
  • Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude, and conversation. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Human Resources, and/or Board of Education.

Requirements

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university, with an emphasis in Business and/or Human Resources and/or related field 
  • Two to four years of experience working in Human Resources in large or medium-sized organization, with experience in a collective bargaining environment 
  • Knowledge of current HR best practices, especially as it relates to compliance and regulatory requirements. 
  • Be an agent for growth, who is passionate about improving HR processes. 
  • Ability to build consensus and design processes that are transparent, clear and efficient 
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of human resource functions, including federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. 
  • Ability to analyze data and interpret contract and policy language. 
  • Experience using a personal computer and software, commensurate with position’s job responsibilities. 
  • Knowledge of public school statutes, codes, policies and practices. 
  • Ability to work cohesively with a team, providing specific services, completing specific projects, and working across multiple units to provide excellent customer service. 
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. 
  • Effective, active listening skills
