The BIT Engineer at Nebraska Public Media supports and maintains the technical infrastructure that enables reliable broadcast, production, and digital services. This role is responsible for broadcast systems, IP-based workflows, and IT technologies to ensure high-quality on-air and online content delivery. The BIT Engineer collaborates with engineering, production, and IT teams to troubleshoot issues, implement new technologies, and support live and recorded programming across multiple platforms.
Nebraska Public Media offers a full spectrum of communications services to the citizens of Nebraska, the nation and the world. Some of these services include a nine-station, statewide noncommercial public television network affiliated with PBS; a nine-station, statewide noncommercial public radio network affiliated with NPR; a cutting-edge Digital Media Group; and state-of-the-art audio, video and multimedia production capability delivered via broadcast, satellite, cable, Internet and broadband delivery channels.
Minimum starting salary is at $25.218/hr. Pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in computer science and two years of related technical and business experience. Two years of related technical and business experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis OR Post high school coursework in computer science and three years of related technical and business experience. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
